New Client Retreat

During the weekend preceding Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in January, 2014, the Saint Therese Center will hold its 13th annual retreat at the Little Flower Retreat House, provided by the Diocese of Las Vegas for our use. The retreat is for new clients from the past two years or clients who have never been on a retreat. Registration will open after Thanksgiving through December and forms will be available at the Main Campus. Maximum capacity for the retreat is 30 clients.

The rooms at the facility are in three pods; each pod having four bedrooms and one complete bathroom. Each bedroom can hold up to three people in three separate twin beds. Usual procedure is two clients to a room—but there may be three clients per room depending on how many enroll. The retreat will start on a Friday after 1:00 PM with clients getting settled in their rooms and familiarizing themselves with the property location. Dinner, introductions, and first discussion will be followed by fun games and activities.

The retreat director for this retreat is Father Joseph, O.P. The retreat presents an opportunity for clients to get to know each other, some members of the staff, as well as the director, Father Joseph, O.P. Special guest and observer will be the Dominican Provincial Father Mark, O.P.

During the weekend, we try to spoil those attending with an abundance of good food, great exchange of stories, laughter and fun for a brief time away from the ordinary day-to-day living with HIV. The theme is “The Many Faces of God”—a time to see God all around us…in persons, places, things. Many clients who have attended previous retreats often remark, “The retreat saved my life!” Come and join us for a great experience. Enrollment forms will be available once specific dates are scheduled.
